History of Darus Salaam Jame Masjid

Darus Salam Jame Mosque is located in a populous and picturesque area of the Birsrestha Mostafa Kamal Bus Terminal in South Paurachar Jungle, Ward No. 9 of Bhola Municipality, Bhola District. This mosque was established in the area in 1964 AD (1368 Hijri, 1371 Bengali year).

Previously, the mosque was situated in Chotalia Bazaar, Niyamatpur village, under Daulatkhan Thana in Bhola district, at the doorway of the ancestral home of the late Mutawalli Kamal Uddin Ahmed Mustafa Mia’s forefathers. After the area was affected by river erosion, the family relocated the mosque structure to this current location. With the comprehensive cooperation, financial support, and dedication of the local religious community, the mosque was built on the land donated by the family members. The previous mosque had a history of approximately 100 years, and the current mosque has been standing for over 50 years at its present location.

Since its establishment, despite various challenges, the development of the mosque and its religious activities have continued. The current mosque structure is built on 3,000 square feet of land with a 4-story foundation, of which two floors, covering 1,800 square feet, have been completed. As the number of worshippers continues to grow, they overflow from the veranda and courtyard onto the rooftop. During Ramadan, the number of worshippers naturally increases, and on Fridays, worshippers from distant places come to listen to the Quran Tafsir before the Jumu'ah prayers.

By the grace of Allah, the mosque has been operating smoothly and efficiently under the management of the Mutawalli and a skilled administrative committee. The 19-member 'Executive Committee' of the mosque's management board, the 13-member 'Advisory Council,' and 81 'Executive Members' work selflessly for the pleasure of Allah and provide financial support to the best of their ability. The honorable Khatib, Imam, Muazzin, and others are diligently serving in the way of Allah with utmost sincerity.
